Introducing SA Band Merchandise.com
The aim of SA Band Merchandise is to be the number one online portal for band merchandise in South Africa. It is our vision to be leaders in the supply of merchandise for South African bands offering not only a supply of merchandise service to music lovers and fans, but also to create a vehicle for band members to market themselves through the merchandise we supply.

We have set up a system here whereby a simple, non-exclusive collaboration occurs between this web site and the South African bands  that join us. The bands receive a percentage of all sales of their merchandise on our site and the bands get access to merchandise for their group without cost to them. SA Band Merchandise, in return, gets to have the site populated with more products of the bands and obviously profits off that. It is a win win situation for both the bands and for this site.

No Stock Held
SA Band Merchandise remains light in that it does not  pre-manufacture any merchandise prior to receiving an order.  We only make up the T-shirts once an order is placed by the customer. This is due to the fact that we have high quality digital textile printers that allow us to make up the garments in a very short space of time. This allows us to be able to carry an infinitely wide range of band designs without the cost of having to keep stock of each item.

This online shop is a vehicle for sales, as the primary face where customers can browse and make purchases. It is also a place for bands to display their band merchandise, have band biographies, and provide links to their web pages, groups etc.

Bulk Merchandise Sales Service to Bands
If your band needs merchandise that you would like to hold stock of to sell at gigs etc. we offer a service for this.  SA Band Merchandise can produce wholesale merchandise at reduced prices to bands for resale at their own gigs and events to maximise profit for themselves through direct sales.

The Deals for Bands

Here is how the deal works:

COSTS
The Basic Deal comes at no cost to you. It’s free. We carry all the expense and you get to make money from it. It is a no-brainer and the very least you should do as a band.

AGREEMENT
Your band has to give SA Band Merchandise permission to sell your T-shirts online. This is done through an Artist Agreement which is signed my you or your band's management. It is important to know that this agreement is non-exclusive - i.e. you can do any other merchandise deal with any other party and we are fine with it. Further to this, you can easily get out of the Agreement should you decide that it is not working for you.

YOUR BAND PAGE ON THE SITE
Each band that is represented on SA Band Merchandise has a dedicated page where you can have some band info available for site visitors to read. Your merchandise will be shown below your band page. Once the agreement is in place you then have to supply us with your band biography and some pics of your band. These will form part of your band's page.

ROYALTY
You collect 10% of all sales of your merchandise that is sold off this site.

YOUR OWN SHOP FOR FANS
If you don't have an ecommerce merchant selling section on your band web site (which most bands don't have) then we encourage you to add a link to your band web site to direct your fans here should they want to buy one of your T-shirts. Effectively, your relationship with us gets you merchandise available to your fans 24/7 through this site at no cost to you! SA Band Merchandise handles the sale, the customer care and the guaranteed shipping to your fan. If you do have online ecommerce available on your band web site, then we encourage you to do this in addition to your own sales point. More hooks dangling in the water...

THE MERCHANDISE
We print high-resolution digital graphics, in full colour, onto a selection of styled men’s and ladies garments. You are restricted to printing onto lighter colour fabrics. There are no design restrictions other than a size print limit equivalent to A3. You can have as many colours as you want or use photographic images. If you can see it on your PC screen we can put it on a shirt. You can offer your fans as many designs as you like, but we encourage fifteen as a good maximum limit. We have a minimum of two designs for each band.

OTHER MERCHANDISE?
You can also provide us with CD's, or any other merchandise you may have to, sell on the SA Band Merchandise web site for you. We will hold the CD's on consignment and pay you when a sale occurs.

Other Services

BULK MERCHANDISE
If you would like to have bulk merchandise made up for your band, merchandise that you are going to hold for sale at your gigs etc., then we can do this for you. Contact us for a quote. We do anything from 10 T-shirts to 10 000. Call us with your requirements.
Note: Artists who are signed up on SA Band Merchandise receive better prices for their bulk orders!

SCREEN PRINTING
If you require printing onto black or dark colour T-Shirt we can do this too. This however does require screen printing and there are some minimum order constraints here. Please call us for details and  quote.

  If you have had T-shirts made, you understand the costs involved and the financial outlay that needs to be made by your band in order to promote your name. We offer you a way to have your band T-shirts (and other merchandise) available to your fans without that costly outlay. Just get the images to us and we do the rest!

  Your band makes money off the sales that are generated off our site when an item of yours is sold
• It is free!
  SABandMerchandise.com is the first of it's kind to allow your stuff to be sold online without cost to you. There simplay is no cost to you if you choose the Basic Option. The Premium Plan has a small cost attached since you need to order a minimum of 20 T-shirts. But believe us, the cost small!
• We handle all shipping and delivery
  This allows your merchandise to be for sale to people who would normally struggle to get your stuff. e.g. If your friends or fans in Poffadder (or London for that matter) want a one of your band T-shirts they can now order it online and be guaranteed delivery.
• We handle the sales and customer service
  Dealing with customers and handling sales processes is tiresome to some and pleasurable to others. We fall into the latter category and we are good at it. This leaves you to get on with your more important function - that of making music.

Getting your band profile online with us is easy.

Here are the steps:

• Write a short description of your band - this will be emailed to us
• Gather all your hi-res images that you want on your band T-shirts etc.
• Complete the Artist Agreement between you and SABandMerchandise.com.
  
• Send us the completed agreement along with your band description and images.
• Wait the 72 hour turn-around time for your band merchandise to appear on our site.

FAQ for bands

• I already sell merchandise. Why would I want to sell it on SABandMerchandise.com?
  The more hooks you have in the water, the better chance you have of a fish taking a bite. Same goes for your merchandise. The agreement that we have with bands is one of non-exclusivity. This means that you can continue to sell your band merchandise by any other means you choose AND have an additional online merchandise sales stream for your band on this site.
• I have band merchandise. Can I make this merchandise available on SABandMerchandise.com?
  Yes. We do accept existing band merchandise from bands on consignment and we will gladly make it available to your fans.
• I don't like contracts... I am scared to get tied into something. Can I get out of it?
  The agreement that we ask you to sign is NON-EXCLUSIVE and has a good ESCAPE CLAUSE for you. We specifically asked our legal team to make the agreement such that if a band wants out, then they can get out without worry. The non-exclusive bit is very important for you. This means that we are not forcing you to make us the ONLY people who make and sell your gear. In fact, we highly encourage the opposite - by all means have 20 different guys making and selling your goods to get your band name out there! The agreement simply gives us your permission to non-exclusively manufacture and sell your merchandise and use your band name on this merchandise, and if anywhere along the line you feel you want otherwise, then you can make it all stop.
